I believe that British English speakers tend to be less direct in the way they communicate in comparison to American English speakers. You often find British English speakers say things such as “ I don’t suppose you have a pen”, rather than “Do you have a pen”. This makes questions seem less direct and abrupt, making conversations more pleasant. I also think it is amazing that you can drive for as little as an hour in Britain and hear an entirely new accent! What is your favourite British accent!

One of my favourite memories happened the night before I got married. I was spending the night away from my husband to be and I was with my two best friends. I could not sleep because I was so excited and nervous about getting married and my friend turned to me and asked if I would like to go and get some air. We walked outside in the pitch black English Countryside, and looked up to the most amazing sky, filled with stars! As we were looking at the sky, we saw a shooting star! It was a very special moment I will cherish forever.
제가 가장 소중하게 여기는 기억 중 하나는 결혼 전날 밤에 일어났습니다. 저는 남편이 될 사람과 떨어져 하룻밤을 보내고 있었고, 두 명의 가장 친한 친구들과 함께 있었습니다. 결혼을 앞두고 너무 설레고 긴장되어 잠을 이루지 못했는데, 친구가 저를 바라보며 "잠시 바람을 쐬러 나갈래?"라고 물었습니다. 우리는 칠흑같이 어두운 영국 시골로 걸어나가 밤하늘을 올려다보았고, 눈앞에는 수많은 별들로 가득한 가장 멋진 하늘이 펼쳐져 있었습니다! 하늘을 바라보는 순간, 우리는 유성이 떨어지는 장면을 보았습니다! 평생 간직할 아주 특별한 순간이었습니다.
