Hello! My name is Constance Millar and I have been a tutor for 5 years for students within the UK studying English for their GCSEs and A Levels. I am also an ASDAN accredited peer mentor and work with children, teenagers and adults in London. So I am confident in teaching students of all ages. I previously lived in Spain and during this time I taught English to students under 10 years old. I also taught myself Spanish. It was an amazing experience, so I know how challenging and rewarding learning a new language can be, and I want to spread that joy. I am studious and focused on bringing out the best in my students. I love to get to know you and tailor my lessons to your unique interests. My lessons are engaging but also fun. I think that we do our best work when we enjoy the learning process!

British English, especially the clear way of speaking called Received Pronunciation (RP), is really important for talking to people all around the world through things like radio and news. If you've been trained in RP English like me, it helps you talk in a way that everyone can understand. Big international radio stations like the BBC World Service use the British accent because it sounds trustworthy and interesting. This kind of English also helps stop misunderstandings when different cultures talk to each other. So, if you're in media, knowing how to speak this way can make a big difference!

My fondest memory is with my older sister Nora. I was 11 years old, in my first year of secondary school. It was summer and I wanted to audition for the school musical. I loved singing and performing, but this was my first time singing in front of my new classmates. I felt so nervous seeing all of them watching me, I wobbled through the song with bright red cheeks. I was so embarrassed. It didn’t go well at all. My sister met me afterwards to walk home. I tried to be chatty and friendly to her, but when she asked me, “How was the audition?” I burst into tears. She stopped and looked at me crying. She said “No, no, no, we are not having this!” With complete confidence she walked me back to the audition room. She told the teacher that I had been nervous and that I needed another chance to audition. I sang the song to him again. But this time I sang with the pride and confidence that she had given me. Her belief in me made me believe in myself. And I feel very lucky to have a supporting sister who knows I can do anything, even when I don’t always believe it.
가장 좋은 기억은 언니 '노라'와 함께한 것입니다. 저는 11살이었고 중학교 1학년이었다. 여름이었고 학교 뮤지컬 오디션을 보고 싶었습니다. 노래와 공연을 좋아했지만 새로운 반 친구들 앞에서 노래를 부르는 것은 이번이 처음이었습니다. 다들 저를 지켜보는 모습에 너무 떨려서 볼이 빨개진 채 비틀거리며 노래를 불렀어요. 너무 부끄러웠습니다! 전혀 잘되지 않았습니다. 언니는 나중에 집으로 걸어가기 위해 저를 만났습니다. 수다스럽고 다정하게 대하려고 노력했는데 그녀가 “오디션 어땠어?”라고 물으면 저는 눈물을 흘렸다. 멈춰 서서 울고 있는 나를 바라보았다. 언니는 "안돼, 안돼, 안돼, 우리는 이건 아니지!"라고 말했습니다. 완전한 자신감을 가지고 저를 오디션 룸으로 다시 데려갔습니다. 제가 긴장했고 오디션을 볼 또 다른 기회가 필요하다고 선생님에게 말했습니다. 그래서 선생님 에게 다시 노래를 불렀다. 하지만 이번에는 언니가 나에게 준 자부심과 자신감을 가지고 노래했습니다. 저에 대한 믿음이 제 자신을 믿게 만들었다. 그리고 항상 믿지는 않지만 저에게 무엇이든 할 수 있다는 것을 아는 언니가 있다는 것은 매우 행운입니다!
