Hello! My name is Phil Victor and I have been teaching English for 15 years. I hold a QTS, an M.A. in TESOL from the University of Sunderland, and a B.Ed (Cum Laude), and I have taught students of all ages, from little ones in primary school right through to adults. I am patient, caring, and I genuinely love working with people of all ages. I believe every student deserves the best from their teacher, and I make sure every lesson feels safe, fun, and comfortable. I will never make you or your child feel embarrassed for making a mistake. British English comes from the original home of the English language and is used as the standard in schools, businesses, and international exams like IELTS and Cambridge all over the world. It is clear, easy to understand, and will help you communicate confidently with people from any country. I am also fluent in American English so I can adapt to whatever works best for you or your child. When it comes to learning English, the most important thing is to enjoy it! Watch English cartoons and shows, read English books, sing along to English songs, and try to use a new word every day. Do not worry about making mistakes. Every mistake means you are trying and trying means you are learning. A little practice every day goes a long way and before you know it English will start to feel natural!

One of my favorite memories from teaching happened during a class in South Korea. I had a student who was very shy and barely spoke for the first few weeks. I could see she understood everything but was too nervous to make a mistake in front of others. I gave her small, gentle opportunities to contribute and made sure she always felt encouraged when she did. About halfway through the semester she stood up and gave a short presentation to the whole class. It was not perfect but it was confident and when she finished everyone clapped. The smile on her face in that moment is something I will never forget. That is exactly why I love teaching.
제가 가장 기억에 남는 순간 중 하나는 한국에서 수업을 하던 때였습니다. 한 학생이 매우 내성적이라 처음 몇 주 동안은 거의 말을 하지 않았습니다. 모든 내용을 이해하는 것은 분명했지만, 다른 사람들 앞에서 실수할까 봐 너무 긴장했던 것 같습니다. 저는 그 학생에게 조금씩이라도 의견을 나눌 기회를 주었고, 말할 때마다 항상 격려해 주었습니다. 학기 중간쯤 되었을 때, 그 학생은 용기를 내어 전체 학생 앞에서 짧은 발표를 했습니다. 완벽하지는 않았지만 자신감 넘치는 모습이었고, 발표가 끝나자 모두가 박수를 쳐 주었습니다. 그 순간 그 학생의 얼굴에 떠오른 미소는 제게 영원히 잊히지 않을 것입니다. 바로 이런 순간이 제가 가르치는 것을 사랑하는 이유입니다.
