In my opinion, British English has strong academic value and is widely used in international education systems and examinations. Many global exams and institutions follow British spelling and vocabulary, which makes it especially useful for students preparing for formal assessments. British English also preserves traditional spellings and expressions that reflect the historical roots of the language, which can be beneficial for learners who want a strong foundation in formal English.
제 생각에 영국식 영어는 학문적 가치가 높고 국제 교육 시스템과 시험에서 널리 사용됩니다. 많은 국제 시험과 기관들이 영국식 철자와 어휘를 따르기 때문에 공식적인 평가를 준비하는 학생들에게 특히 유용합니다. 또한 영국식 영어는 언어의 역사적 뿌리를 반영하는 전통적인 철자와 표현을 보존하고 있어, 격식 있는 영어에 대한 탄탄한 기초를 다지고자 하는 학습자에게 도움이 될 수 있습니다.
One of my fondest memories was preparing a student for the IELTS examination. She needed a specific band score to pursue her studies overseas and initially lacked confidence in the speaking and writing sections. We worked consistently on structure, vocabulary, and fluency, and I watched her confidence grow with each lesson. When she achieved a higher band score than she expected, she shared the news with me immediately. Being part of her success and knowing I contributed to her future opportunities was incredibly rewarding.
