Hi, I’m Eric! I hold a Master of Education, a TESOL certification, and I am a certified Cambridge Speaking Examiner. I’ve been teaching English in Korea for over 10 years, helping learners of all ages—from kids starting with phonics to adults gaining confidence in daily and professional English. I speak French, have studied Italian, and am currently learning Korean, so I understand firsthand the joys and challenges of learning a new language.
I believe learning should be practical, fun, and inspiring. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, focus on building confidence, and connect English to real life. Whether improving conversation skills, preparing for exams, or exploring culture, my goal is to make every step of the learning journey engaging, motivating, and rewarding.

저는 프랑스어를 구사하고, 이탈리아어를 공부했으며, 현재는 한국어를 배우고 있습니다. 그래서 새로운 언어를 배우는 즐거움과 어려움을 누구보다 잘 이해합니다.

In my opinion, British English has a wide global reach—it’s used in many countries around the world, while American English is used in fewer places. British spelling is often easier to recognize in international education, business, and official writing, which makes it useful if you want your English to be understood everywhere. There’s also a gentle politeness in British English that adds meaning and gives a thoughtful touch to the way people speak.
Learning a language takes practice! Language learning is messy, so make those mistakes. Just like body builders building muscles, you can’t get results overnight. Doing a little bit every day really makes a difference. I encourage you to explore English from all over the world—watch movies, read webtoons/books/comics, listen to music from different English-speaking cultures. As English becomes a global language, the diversity of its culture keeps growing, and learning it is a great way to connect with the culture and the people who speak it. Seeing the world through another language is one of the best ways to understand the complexity of our world.

많은 나라에서 쓰이고 있으며, 반면 미국 영어는 상대적으로 사용되는 지역이 적습니다.
또한 영국식 철자는 국제 교육, 비즈니스, 그리고 공식 문서에서 더 자주 사용되기 때문에, 어디서든 이해받을 수 있는 영어를 구사하고 싶다면 매우 유용합니다. 게다가 영국 영어에는 부드러운 공손함이 담겨 있어, 사람들이 말할 때 더 깊이 있고 사려 깊은 인상을 주기도 합니다.

One of my favorite experiences was cycling around Jeju Island. I had just recovered from COVID the week before, but I was stubbornly determined to see the island’s beauty from the trails. There were moments when I seriously thought about giving up, but I pushed through and ended up completing the full 250 km in three days.
Along the way, dol hareubang dotted the trails like my own personal cheerleaders, keeping me company as I rode past villages and the coast. I stopped in small seaside villages to enjoy amazing local food, like sea urchin noodle soup and fresh seafood, and I watched the haenyeo dive deep into the waters, keeping alive traditions passed down through generations. I also listened to elders speaking in the Jeju dialect—understanding almost nothing—which reminded me that language learning is always a journey, never truly finished.
제가 가장 좋아하는 경험 중 하나는 제주도를 자전거로 일주했던 일입니다.
그 전 주에 코로나에서 막 회복했지만, 저는 제주의 아름다움을 직접 두 바퀴로 느껴보겠다는 고집이 있었죠.
중간중간 정말 포기하고 싶을 만큼 힘든 순간도 있었지만, 결국 3일 만에 250km를 완주했습니다.
길을 따라가다 보면 돌하르방들이 마치 저만의 응원단처럼 서 있어서, 마을과 해안을 지나칠 때마다 외롭지 않았습니다.
작은 해안 마을에 들러 성게국수와 신선한 해산물 같은 현지 음식을 맛보기도 했고,
해녀들이 깊은 바다로 잠수하는 모습을 보며 세대를 이어온 전통이 여전히 살아 있음을 느꼈습니다.
또한 제주 방언으로 이야기하는 어르신들의 말씀을 거의 알아듣지 못하면서,
언어 학습은 끝이 없는 여정이라는 사실을 다시 한 번 깨달았습니다.
